About CoreForge

Small apps, built to do one job well

CoreForge LLC is an independent software studio that builds small, focused iOS apps. There's no venture funding, no growth team, and no roadmap built around engagement metrics. Each app exists because a specific everyday task deserved a better tool than what was already on the App Store.

What "focused" means here

Most apps in a given category try to be the one app for everything: social features, gamification, subscriptions layered on subscriptions. CoreForge apps go the other way. Each one picks a single job, does it accurately, and gets out of the way. NestPlan doesn't try to be a full brokerage or budgeting suite, it models retirement income. HarborCast doesn't try to be a general weather app, it's built specifically for people making go/no-go decisions on the water.

That narrower scope means fewer screens, fewer settings, and a much shorter list of things that can go wrong.

Privacy by default, not as a feature

Every CoreForge app is designed so its calculations run entirely on your device. Retirement projections, financial inputs, GPS location for weather conditions, none of it is transmitted to a server, because there usually isn't a server in the loop at all. This isn't a marketing checkbox, it's a direct consequence of not needing an account system: if there's no login, there's nothing to sync, and if there's nothing to sync, there's no reason to see your data in the first place.

Where an app does need a network connection (like pulling live weather or schedule data), it fetches public data and nothing personal ever leaves the device.

How the apps are priced

CoreForge apps use free tiers with optional paid upgrades, not hard paywalls on core functionality. A free NestPlan user can still build a real retirement projection, PRO adds deeper simulation and export tools. A free HarborCast user still gets marine conditions and tide data, PRO removes ads and unlocks the deeper forecast views. Nothing is designed to nag; ads (where present) are minimal and clearly separated from the app's actual function.

The apps

NestPlan — a retirement calculator that runs Monte Carlo simulations, models required minimum distributions and withdrawal order, and lets you compare retiring at different ages side by side, all on your own device.
HarborCast — marine weather and boating conditions built around a rating you configure yourself, plus live lightning and storm tracking sourced from NOAA and the National Weather Service.
CFB Calendars — a free tool that turns college football schedules into subscribable calendar feeds, so kickoff times and scores show up automatically in the calendar app you already use.

What's next

CoreForge keeps building the same way: small, useful, privacy-respecting tools, one at a time, maintained for as long as people actually use them. There's no fixed release calendar, new apps and features ship when they're ready, not on a schedule designed to hit a quarterly number.
